Tonight Sept 1st, 2009 at Martini Red general meeting for Bridge the Gap 930pm
Tonight we need to find street team volunteers for the event as well as distributing info for the event.
Also we are looking to get a list of participants and vendors (art, music, and food) so we can compile a list for people when the enter.
Have any ideas, run them by us tonight and we will see if we can make them happen.
See you when the bell tolls.

With spectacular beachfront views of New York Harbor and the Verrazano-Narrows set as background, the Alice Austen House Museum’s lush, six-acre meadow will host SIcoLab’s Bridge The Gap II, art happening (or Be-In) on September 19.
From 11am to 10pm, artists and art-lovers of all ages, disciplines, backgrounds, and geographic locations are invited to attend and participate in the day’s collaborative creation.
Participants can bring anything from a chair or blanket to tents and tables. Artists, artists groups, cultural organizations, vending folk artists, clubs, bands, groups of friends, and etc., are encouraged to set up a camp or installation. The more creative, specific, and involving the better. We will bridge the gap by creating a day-long, temporary, and hyper-real community.
When the gate opens at 11 a.m., participants will be able to grab land. The more people in your group, the more tents and installations you have, the more space you can get.
A professional stage with PA and simple backline will be available for bands, singers, poets, dancers, or any other acts who wish to perform and contribute to the vibe. Open mic performers must sign up for a time slot, in person, the day of the event.
This year there will be a "Poets' Soapbox" stage in front of the Austen House with its own signup sheet.
Local restaurants, caterers, and food vendors are encouraged to set up a tent and sell lunches and non-alcoholic refreshments.
There are no vending fees for the event, but SIcoLab asks vendors to provide the art group with a fair donation by day’s end.
Stay tuned for more announcements. For more information, email info@sicolab.org.
